YOUNG SCIENTIST SUPPORT

A limited number of grants for young scientists under 35 years old will be available. The support includes a registration fee. Candidates who intend to apply for the support should send their CV and a one-page abstract to prof. dr. Nives Ogrinc (nives.ogrinc@ijs.si) before March 15, 2023.

BEST POSTER AWARDS

The conference will offer the Best Poster Award to the three best posters.

All posters will automatically be considered for the Poster Award. The posters will be evaluated in terms of; design and layout, coherence, argumentation and methodology, awareness of previous work, attractiveness, message and main points, balance of text visuals, and overall impression.

Poster Size: The poster should be A0 (118 cm height x 84 cm length) or smaller. Please choose an upright format and remember that the font sizes should be big enough to allow your poster to be read from some distance. We suggest using a font size of 22 – 24 pt. for texts and 60 – 70 pt. for headings.

SCIENCE SLAM

Participate in the ISO-FOOD Science Slam.

IF YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT ARE YOU DOING, THEN WHY NOT TAKE PART IN THE ISO-FOOD SYMPOSIUM SCIENCE SLAM AND GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOUR CREATIVE SKILLS!

THE SCIENCE SLAM WILL CONSIST OF SHORT 5 MIN’ TALKS THAT ARE EASY TO FOLLOW. THE ESSENCE OF THE SCIENCE SLAM IS TO EXPLAIN YOUR RESEARCH IN AN UNDERSTANDABLE AND ENTERTAINING WAY; IT IS NOT SO MUCH ABOUT THE SCIENCE RESULTS OF YOUR WORK. AT THE END THE AUDIENCE GETS TO VOTE ON THE BEST PRESENTATION, PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD PLACE.

TO APPLY – SIMPLY SEND AN E-MAIL TO isofood@ijs.si CONTAINING YOUR NAME AND AFFILIATION AND THE TOPIC OF INTEREST. FIVE BEST PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO PRESENT AT SCIENCE SLAM AT CONFERENCE DINNER.

ELIGIBILITY: ENTRANCE MUST BE PARTICIPANTS OF THE ISO-FOOD SYMPOSIUM.
